Code Compliance Information from Santa Rosa County
A lot of things that happen in our neighborhood fall under the auspices of the County. The above is an informative FAQ on the Santa Rosa County website regarding how to deal with "situations" around our homes. It helps us to understand what items are County and which could be Covenants.

You can haul your Yard Debris to Gulf Breeze
Information sheet from the City on cost of disposing of trash/debris in the Gulf Breeze Transfer Station. This is lots closer than Milton.

Status of the Oil Spill

Photo taken from home security camera morning of December 13, 2009, backyard of home on east side of Lighthouse Pointe Drive. He's sniffing around where the bird feeders hang during the day. He was also photographed as early as 8PM on December 11th.
This fella came across 2 yards, both with complete 6 foot fences!
Take in your bird feeders and be cautious when you go outdoors after dark!

We have once again been in contact with Barbara Almario of the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission. This is a note from Barbara:
Sorry to hear you have bears in the area again; your husband called a few weeks ago, so it sounds like this guy has been around. I know you all have such a nice patch of woods there – the best thing to do is make sure all attractants are secured – especially garbage cans. Pass the word along to all of your neighbors!
I’ve forwarded your email to our new Wildlife Assistance Biologist, Alan, who will document the complaint. We haven’t heard from anyone else in the neighborhood besides you and your husband, so we don’t know any of the patterns for this bear. If you speak with your neighbors, tell them to call in to the regional office when the bear has been a nuisance in their yards so we know where it has been. The number is 850-265-3676.
Thanks and keep us informed
Barbara
Please take note of Barbara's request that all contacts/first hand viewing of the bear be reported. We encourage all homeowners to do so. Also tell your friends in David's Landing and Sound Retreat.
