Stay away from snakes if you don't know what kind they are.  The majority of the snakes you will come upon are not harmful nor aggressive.

Please be aware that we also have Oak and Rat snakes in our area and both of those are not harmful, and are beneficial, but do appear somewhat similar in color and pattern to the rattle snake above.
